The Emerald Fomori War

This book is a recounting of a war between Fomóiri and Sidhe for control of a place they call Island of Emerald Forests on earth. It tells of the arrival of the Sidhe in that place and their erecting enchanted stone of markers there to help guide those coming after to be able to open portals to the same place.

The Sidhe had searched many realms for one suitable to settle in. And they found that on this island and the lands nearby. But the lands were already settled by Fomóiri and another species, then even more animalistic and corrupt Firbohlg.

The Fomóiri and the Firbohlg had already been warring. It was simple enough for the SIdhe to foment more conflict between them. Effectively weakening both of their enemies.

The focus of the book is on the war for the particular land, though it also chronicles elements of the war that took place in neighbouring regions.

The SIdhe took to the forests and the hilltops mostly, places less favoured by the Fomóiri who, with their enormous size, preferred the open places and the sea shores. And away from the Firbohlg who liked deep valleys and caves.

Over the years the connection between this Isle and Tir-na-Nog grew more distant and the Sidhe who were appointed regional governors across the island started to consider themselves less beholden to the rule of the King and Queen. Some even styled themselves as royalty of their own regions.

Eventually, an elite group of warriors arose from among the five regions and strove to bring the conflict to conclusion. They were called the Fianna. The Fianna fought to drive first the Firbohlg from the island, and then the Fomóiri. They also fought the Ekvotar, a cunning and honourless demon race that had plagued the Sidhe across many worlds. Though they had never found a way to Tir-na-Nog.

Many battles are described in the book. Most as glowing victories, or brave losses against overwhelming odds. These include; the Stand at Kings Valley, the Fight for Sunset Cliffs, the Raid across Fionn’s Bridge, the First and Second battles for the Weald, the Charge across White Snake Hill, the Felling of Balor One-Eye, the Exile of Fear Doirche the Firbohlg traitor, the Assault on White Sand Beach, the Vanquishing of Benandonner, Conn’s Routing of the River Valley Fomóiri, and the Defence of Blue Floor Forest.
